SIMON BUCKLEY'S award-winning project of recording the city at dawn and dusk, Not Quite Light, has provided some of the most beautiful and memorable images of the Manchester conurbation in the last few years.

This tour, led by Jonathan Schofield, with Simon aboard, takes a stroll through the fecund history and fascinating street scene which crosses and re-crosses the great meander of the River Irwell between the Manchester Arena, the university and the Trinity development area close to Castlefield.

The stories here range from the heroic to the absurd to the significant. The tour is guaranteed to surprise, delight and inform in equal measure. There will be poetry, literature and even music. The tour finishes in a pub with a drink.

You can see more of Simon's evocative and imagination-gripping work here and also with the top image. The painting below is by John Raphael Isaac from 1859 and is a panorama over much of the route The River at Dusk tour will cover. This image features in Illusion & Change Manchester written by Jonathan Schofield and is available here.

The tour takes place between 8pm-10pm, Friday 18 May and is part of the Not Quite Weekend 2018.

Meet outside the Abito apartments, Greengate, M3 7NE, at 7.50pm.

£10 per person. Please wear sensible footwear, bring cameras and keep your eyes peeled for the missing meander of Manchester, it's there somewhere.

Please pay for tickets on Paypal below. The Paypal receipt acts as your booking confirmation and ticket. This is sent automatically when your payment is made. Thank you.
