This is where the modern cities of Manchester and Salford began. The tour takes a stroll from the elegant Embankment buildings across the grandest cul-de-sac in the UK over the River Irwell to take a look at ancient remains and new ideas on the Manchester side and then strolls back into Salford to the lively historical area of Chapel Street and Greengate, quoting ballads and poems and exploring English Civil War connections, chilling Cold War reminders and daft tales of long-gone sports. The tours will be entertaining and informative and last 50 minutes.
