This tour starts with a visit onto the National Trust's splendid viaduct project.
Then the tour leaves Castlefield passing through sweet former graveyard St John’s Gardens, while covering the showbiz world of The Factory, Granada-land and the Opera House. We cross through Spinningfields over the River Irwell and into the city of Salford, then follow Chapel Street past the fascinating Sacred Trinity church with stories of the Flat Iron Market. We turn back into Manchester at Blackfriars via another former graveyard, Parsonage Gardens, before finishing at the fine People’s History Museum. The hugely significant story of this part of Manchester and Salford will surprise people and many of the buildings will delight them.
