Lost & Imagined Manchester: A talk with incredible images on the National Trust Viaduct
This special occasion will take the right line about life on the high line with a talk about some of the amazing buildings we have lost and some of the outrageous schemes that were never completed.

There are four cities within each city. There is the city that was, the city that is, the city that will be and the city that might have been.
This talk delivers narrative punch with extraordinary images to reveal those four Manchester cities.
Under discussion will be ten superb or significant buildings Manchester has lost and ten wacky or wonderful schemes that were never completed.
Some of the stories and images will make you sigh and some will make you laugh.
Lost places will include Waterhouse’s Assize Courts, Spring Gardens’ palatial General Post Office and Cheetham Hill’s Assembly Rooms: Imagined Places will include a semi-Eiffel Tower in Piccadilly Gardens, a vast Cathedral and a heliport on Victoria Station.
The talk is in association with the National Trust.
