THE GHOSTS OF AFFLECKS & THE NORTHERN QUARTER

AFFLECKS and the Northern Quarter sums up much of what is good about Manchester, a sense of independence, a sense of radicalism, and a big dose of fun.

Afflecks is also hosted in an old building with a strange and haunting history. Literally haunting. It's a place of creaking floors and dark corners, of tales of ghostly visitations, of the dead risen again.

This pair of pre-Halloween tours take in all these elements and add something extra by starting off in Stevenson Square in the Northern Quarter. They capture the art, the atmosphere, the architecture, the ghost stories before finishing in Afflecks for more shivers.

So if you think you are familiar with Afflecks and the Northern Quarter think again. On these tours expect surprises, stories of famous people, stories of daft people, secret artworks and mysterious locations. There's even a reading from a spooky Hilary Mantel short story.

BUT REMEMBER there are just two tours on one evening. So please book asap if you fancy a thrill.

Meet: Outside Fred Aldous (M1 1LW) in Stevenson Square. The tours last approximately 1hour and 20 minutes at 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 29 October after Afflecks closes.
