The Secrets of Fairfield Moravian Settlement
10.30am Saturday 22 October
You look right coming out of the city and there’s some setts in the road and a cute looking post box, so you follow your nose, prick a bubble in time and suddenly you’re in the Fairfield Moravian Settlement. This eighteenth century sanctuary was built religious group, The Moravians, as their own little Eden away from the city in rolling green fields. The Greater Manchester conurbation has now largely stolen the greenery but Fairfield survives and this tour takes a look how it has done so, with visits into at least one of the period buildings. We also look at a couple of point of interest nearby.
